Beverly Griffis, APRN

“Healing begins with active listening. Understanding the goals and needs of the patient and family is imperative to healing. Knowing the latest research and cutting-edge tools are essential but are secondary to knowing the heart of the patient. Helping the patient establish clear goals and realistic expectations by providing support, compassion and education will help the patient to take an active role in the healing process. This not only opens the door to trust and communication but helps me remember that the disease does not define the patient.”

Get to know Me

“I was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL and still have my full-time home there. I received my BSN from Barry University in Miami and my MSN from Florida International University also in Miami.

While studying to be a Nurse Practitioner, I was awarded the opportunity to spend time on the U.S. Naval ship Comfort while providing healthcare to the underserved in Central America.

I spend most of my free time outdoors; running, biking, and kayaking. Additionally, I spend time raising awareness for foster children and hope one day there will be not even one child without a forever home.”

Words I Live By

“Look for the beauty in all for it is there when you look with an open heart.”
